Oberzent museum in Beerfelden

If you want to know what a saddler‘s or shoemaker‘s workshop looked like in earlier times and which tools were used, this is the right place.

In this regional history museum, you will find a merchant‘s shop, equipment and exhibits from a cobbler‘s and saddler‘s workshop, and a kitchen with everyday objects. Textile production, diamond grinding and the use of tanbark are also covered. Traditional costumes are on show and there is a display about the Schellekattel, the former railway that ran between Beerfelden and Hetzbach. The tour concludes in the cellar rooms, where the processing and preservation of food is examined. In the open-air grounds you can see sandstone exhibits, a replica of a bloomery and a barn with agricultural and forestry equipment.
