Wildlife Photographer of the Year

Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt - Friedensplatz 1, 64283 Darmstadt

With the "Wildlife Photographer of the Year" exhibition, the Hessian State Museum is bringing a selection of the best nature photographs from 2024 to Darmstadt.

The exhibition is based on the competition of the same name organised by the Natural History Museum in London, which has been honouring the best nature photographs every year since 1965. The impressive photographs not only show the animals in their natural habitat, but also draw attention to the impact of humans on the environment. The aim of the competition is to increase public interest in nature and species conservation and to stimulate debate on environmental issues.

I first have to collect myself! Jakob Lena Knebl, Markus Pires Mata and the collections of the Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt

Friedensplatz 1, 64283 Darmstadt

Jakob Lena Knebl and Markus Pires Mata create spectacular installations between art and design. They combine fashion, painting, sculpture and popular culture with great pleasure. They combine high and low, criticism and humour with relish. Provocative, striking and anarchic.
